Healthy Swimming

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over the past two decades there has been an increase in the number of Recreational Water Illness (RWI) outbreaks at swimming pools, water parks, hot tubs, lakes, rivers, and oceans. Luckily, there are steps you can take to help prevent the spread of water-related illnesses:
1) Refrain from swimming when you have diarrhea.
2) Avoid swallowing pool water or even getting it in your mouth.
3) Shower before swimming and wash your hands after using the bathroom or changing diapers.
4) Take children on bathroom breaks or check diapers often.
5) Change diapers in a bathroom and not at poolside and thoroughly clean the diaper changing area.
