EMPOWER Research Study - University of Pennsylvania
Have you lost significant weight (10% or more) in the past 2 years without weight-loss surgery? Are you interested in learning new skills and motivational strategies to help maintain your weight loss? If so, you may qualify to participate in the EMPOWER research study at University of Pennsylvania. EMPOWER is a 12 week innovative group weight-loss maintenance program with 3 follow-up support sessions at 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks after the 12th weekly session. The program is designed to help people keep weight off by managing stress, achieving healthy lifestyle goals, and developing a long-term partnership for successful weight management. For your participation, testing for diabetes, cholesterol, depression and stress are provided at no cost to you. You will receive up to $150 for completing the study.
