- Chromosome 22q11.2 deletion -- a genetic disorder at the root of syndromes such as DiGeorge and velocardiofacial syndromes -- may cause a variety of health problems, ranging from heart defects and cleft palate to feeding problems, immune problems, a unique pattern of learning disabilities and more. At the "22q and You" Center -- established in 1996 -- the goal is to provide the finest diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services to these children and their families.
