Influenza

imageInfluenza is a medical condition that can cause a range of symptoms including fever, headache, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and body aches.  Symptoms of influenza range from mild to severe with some cases resulting in complications such as pneumonia and even death.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost 36,000 Americans die from complications of influenza each year. Although anyone can get the flu, it is particularly dangerous for young children, adults 65 and older, and people with chronic medical conditions.  The best way to prevent influenza is to get the flu vaccine each season.  To get answers to all your influenza questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites.
