Kidney Disease

imageYour kidneys filter out wastes and extra water from your blood.  Without your kidneys these wastes would eventually damage your body.  The tiny filters within your kidneys can become damaged by disease.  This usually happens slowly over time due to conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.  There are also hereditary causes of kidney disease.  When your kidneys stop working altogether, it is known as kidney failure.  Kidney failure is often very dangerous or even fatal.  Keeping your diabetes or high blood pressure under control is a good way to prevent kidney disease, as is getting yourself tested regularly if you are at risk.  To get answers to all your kidney disease questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites.
