Liver Disease

The liver is one of the body’s largest and most important organs.  It is responsible for storing vitamins and nutrients from the food we eat.  It also breaks down harmful substances and removes wastes from the blood.

The most common diseases that affect the liver are hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer, but there are many others as well.  These diseases claim the lives of over 25,000 Americans every year.  Fortunately, there are many ways to protect yourself against liver disease, such as drinking alcohol in moderation or not at all; and engaging in safe sexual practices.  To get answers to all your liver disease questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites.
