Lupus

imageThe Lupus Foundation of America estimates that approximately 1.5 million Americans have some form of lupus.  Almost 90 percent of those affected are women.  Lupus is what is known as an autoimmune disease.  In autoimmune diseases, the body mistakenly attacks its own cells.  Lupus can cause the body to attack its own skin, joints, kidneys, blood cells, heart, or lungs.  These attacks leave people feeling tired and achy and can even lead to life threatening conditions like kidney failure.  To get answers to all your lupus questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites
