Multiple Sclerosis

imageMultiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord.  Most people experience their first symptoms as adults, somewhere between the ages of 20 and 40.  For some people, MS can be a mild illness, but for others it can result in a permanent handicap.  Symptoms vary from person to person and may change over the course of the disease.  The most common symptoms include abnormal fatigue, vision problems, difficulty walking, slurred speech, tremors, stiffness, and bladder problems.  To get answers to all your multiple sclerosis questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites.

MS affects as many as 400,000 Americans at any one time.  PhillyHealthInfo.org is here to help you find multiple sclerosis support groups and treatment programs in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia County. Our health services list in the blue box on the right side of the page is a good place to start.
