Organ and Tissue Donation
Currently, there are more than 4,500 people in our area on waiting lists for life-saving organ transplants. Unfortunately, every day in the United States about 17 people die while awaiting organ transplants because of a shortage of donors. Luckily, each and every one of us is potential organ or tissue donor. In Pennsylvania alone, 4 million people are already registered organ donors. If you’re not already registered, getting an organ donor card is free and just a phone call away. You can even declare yourself an organ donor when you obtain or renew your driver’s license.
