Speech and Communication Disorders

Someone with a speech or communication disorder is unable to properly use or understand language.  As many as 1 in 10 Americans lives with some sort of communication disorder. Causes include hearing loss, brain injury such as stroke, mental retardation, cancers of the throat, drug abuse, physical impairments such as cleft lip or palate, and neurological disorders like cerebral palsy or autism.  To get answers to all your speech and communication disorders questions, visit our list of Recommended Sites.
