Violence
Each year, thousands of Americans become victims of violence. Thousands more live in fear in their schools and communities. Violence goes beyond injuries to the victims. Violence preys on the survivors and witnesses, destroying them mentally, physically and emotionally. Thankfully, there are steps each of us can take to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities. We must work to provide alternatives to violence for young people. In addition, citizens can patrol their own neighborhoods and report criminal activity to the proper authorities. Together we can make our communities healthy places to live, work, and play.
